hey rusty a buddy of mine had a 150 plate system and i think its a pretty common setup and reliable. he seemed to enjoy pretty good. ive never had any experience with the 250-400 setups. guess it all depends on how long you hold the button. its all in the tuneup. i have seen first hand quite a bit of destruction on three stage fogger setups though...
If the pistons are up for it, then I guess the rods and block are the next weak spots. I'm no expert, but from what I've read, I think those are both good for mid 500-600 hp.
The real kicker, the rest of your drivetrain. I'd get through the break-in, then get several good passes without NOS. Then look at stepping up from 50, 100, 150, 200 hp on the NOS. In that process, you'll probably find weak spots in traction and the rest of the drivetrain.
What are you running for tranny, axle, gears, tires and suspension?
Plate system or direct port? I know with my build i plan on 150-200hp shot direct port and every 1 has told me it would do just fine. I believe you would be fine up to 150 or 200. Id try 150 1st. But I would use it wisely if I were you.
I run a Sniper 150 plate system and love it a lot. My 352 is around 450 to 475 hp on the bottle. And it will not let the 295/50-15's get any traction until third gear. I have run around 2 dozen bottles through it and have had no problems. Ok so your guessing what did he do to the motor? Well it's a 352 bored .040 with cast pistons, stock heads and valves, stock 4 barrel intake, a crane cams 278 stick, Holley 600, new MSD and Mallory ignition parts and 3" pipe through 40 series Flowmaster's. Best run at Temple Academy (little river) was 13.98 at 103. I used the nitrous at about 60' out and didnt get out of it until I crossed the finish.....................WOW WHAT A RUSH!!!!!

OK, that makes me a little nervous about ever putting NOS on my truck....I was just thinking of using a 100shot in 2nd or 3rd gear. What am I thinking, I 've got to get this carb dialed in first....
With a plate system you can get up to a 400 shot and with a fogger system up to a 500. If I were you I would try the 150 first, if your not satisfied buy the 200 jets and do that.
