a cummins is just a little guy compared to a cats. been runnin one dozer we got every weekday minus rain days for the last 12 years w/o overhaul or tranny rebuild. that cats a trooper. 1968 cat d-8. gotta turn the engine off to ut oil in it and she uses about 2-5 gallons a day depending on how hard we run her.
Thanks for the definition of MOPAR Dave. My buddy is a dodge fan and I have been trying for months now to figure out something for him. I was looking into a set of Stans headers for my rig. The price is right now with the Canadian dollar actually doing something in the market. The fellow at Stans said that with the exhaust and headers that it will be about 5 hp shy of a turbo, I am presuming stock turbo though. Either way, it seems to be a cheap way to get more juice out of my rig.
You would be proud to know that I have converted my wife into a ford fan. She used to drive a 95 4Runner and we were thinking of traiding it in. One drive in an Expedition and she was sold.
I think I will do a intake the same but try to fab a screen of some sort to help reduce those pesky dodges from causing performance lost. Up here in the north, they are almost as common as mosquitos and black flys. Thanks for the help.
How straight is your intake? I am thinking of doing somethign similar and was curious to know the path your air takes. Almost seems like a ram air setup.
Could you take a pic of the top view so us guys that want to try this can take a look at the route you took.
As well, how much of the rad support was cut off? Looks like a fair chunk.
What about the steering pump access? Is it still easy to get at to check fluid?
