One of my best friends at work was killed today on his way to our job due to the fact someone found the need to make an illegal left turn infront of him. I've lost a few close friends in the past few years due to other people being idiots behind the wheel.
I was just talking to him yesterday, I just can't beleive he's gone.
Sorry to here about your loss our thoughts are with you. I also wonder why people are in such a hurry any more.People need to SLOW down and smell the roses.Again sorry for your loss. Dave
i am sorry about your loss. i have rode my harley for many years and lost many friends by careless drivers who are in a big hurry to get nowere. my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Two friends of mine were riding together on his Harley and a drunk pulled out in front of them. They were both killed. Since they were "bikers", the cops said they were speeding and didn't have a headlight on the bike. I know better than the light not being on, because it was wired to stay on, when the bike was running. The drunk got away with murder. He got a DUI, but that was it. The only witnesses to the accident could not testify as to the speed they were riding...but to me, having driven more than 25,000 miles on various motorcycles and having cars turn in front of me more times than I can count...I seriously still believe the drunk should have been charged with manslaughter or vehicular homicide...whatever. A high percentage of people in cars don't watch for motorcycles, whether it be a chopper or a stock bike.
My sympathies are with you and your friend's family.
I appreciate it guys, it's undoubtedly one of the worst feelings you can have to lose such a great person.
Luckly I already had the next few days off of work so I'm going to try taking my mind of it all by cleaning my garage. Probably make a few trips to the landfill today, it's a mess.
Chris,
Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, my condolences. I see alot of people do stupid things around motorcycles - turn in front of them, crowd them, etc. Sure there are irresponsible motorcyclists out there, there are tons that follow the rules of the road. I do my best to always give them plenty of room when I'm out on the road. I'd love to have one, but not here in North Jersey. Too many people out here paying attention to everything but the road. Phone calls, putting on makup, reading the paper, watching their DVD players, etc. Again, I'm very sorry for your loss.
I hate people who speed no matter where they go, even on narrow street. Most of those people can't even run 1/4 of a mile without going out of breath. They think they are such hotshots in their vehicle.
Sorry to hear about this. I know a good friend of mine from the Marine Corps almost lost his life on General Booth Blvd due to a Toyota Tacoma pulling out in front of him while he was doing 60. He was lucky enough to have survived though. This whole area is terrible with regards to the way people drive. I drive from Williamsburg to *** everyday for work, and over that 43 mile one way drive I see just about every kind of idiot you can imagine.

Right there with you. Many years ago in my teen years I too lost a Good Friend, spoke to him the night before planning our time together the following day which never came. He was a Passenger in a car that lost control crossing a railway crossing, Speed could have been a factor. This was before Seatbelts were the thing, he was airborne hitting his head on a Rock Instantly ending his young life. In my Job people are in such a Hurry to go nowhere fast, they'd beat down the door trying to get on while your in the middle of a Busy Intersection trying to Turn.
Sorry buddy!
I rode my CBR for a year and a half and after a while you get used to close calls, but all it takes is one idiot among the hundreds of idiots sharing the road with you to end your life. I really believe that if you ride long enough it isn't a matter of if but when you wreck, be it some jerk's fault or that of your own. You just hope that your wreck, when it happens, doesn't kill or cripple you. I'm truely sorry that Edwin's wreck killed him.
Sorry about your loss. I don't know what drives people to rush all the time, but I'm damn glad I found a way out of it. I ride motorcycles too, and we're as a group very sensitized to this stuff, particularly these days with all the medicated and/or drunk folks on the roads.
