Anyone have any idea on how wide the stock steel wheels are? They look just like the chromed steel wheels on the same era F150's and Bronco's. Thanks for the hint on the tire mrg's recommendation--I didn't think of that.

I believe they are 15x7.5, with 5 on 5.5".

One thing about the bigger meats, they do tend to drain the fuel tank, and wear out brake parts a bit faster than stock rubber. My preference for a stock truck is 31x9.5x15's for stock rims. The fact that the 7.5" rim is narrower will cause them to be slightly taller, and less wide than stated dimensions. If you drive through a lot of ice and snow in the winter, a narrower tire will perform better.

I've also noticed that when I upgraded to the 31x10.5's, I needed an alignment. That might get expensive because you may need to puchase new parts (if you need them).

That's a nice looking truck, but why the locking hubs on the front and back?

Those arent hubs on the rear. They are late model F150/Bronco center caps.

I went from a generic set of 31x10.50x15's to the BFG 33x12.50x15 TA KO's back in April on my '96 (stock) Bronco. I love the BFG's (3rd set I've purchased over the years for different vehicles) for snow, daily driver and mud use. Yes, the 33's eat gas a lot faster. I do get a rub if I go full turn on the wheel, but I've learned how far I can/can't turn it. I don't have a lift yet and all I had to do to accomodate the 33's was to place about 1/2" of spacers to move the front bumper forward and out of the turn radius of the tires.

I did have Remington wide Brutes 31X 10.5 but then I had to get new ones and I got some All terain Liberators 31X10.5 they seem to be handling well so far.

31X10.5X15 on my 95

I just put on a net set of Big Foot Mud Terrains from Big-O on my 95. Stock rims (EB package) I believe. Run great, but they are kind of loud on the street. I went to the store to buy the BF Goodrich Mud Terrain TA, but the Big-O brand was about $10.00 per tire cheaper, and has a better warranty.
