Used to have a bachelor pad underneath a bar. Never got much sleep there until the bar closed then it was a great place, being on the lake and all. Then got a condo and was in charge of maintenece and renting (never rented the one above us in the two years I was there Now I have my own place and wouldnt change it for the world.
You did say idiots and parties. I like people to have a good time , as long as it is not at the expense of someone else. Bad neighbors can completley destroy your happiness. I feel for you , I have been there many, many , times. A party every night means no one is happy around them. Good luck and get the hell out of there before it gets to you. There is more to life than having to be around alot of people that are stagnant in their own lives.
Ok I got one. I looked at this great apartment overlooking a creek... big open field for the dog.. quiet area, you would think I was in heaven right?? Ok I sign a 1 year lease and come back the next day to find gang bangers everywhere , so apparently they get a break on their rent if they stay indoors on Mondays.
We move in and the nice lady upstairs would chat from time to time from the balcony. Then her boyfriend gets parolled for the attempted murder sentence he was serving. He starts to deal out of the apartment, and we have 24/7 scumbags. I still have 6 monthes lease at that point.
I come home one night and my power is off... having paid the bill this ****ed me off. The elec. co. disconnected me 1D instead of 2D. 2D being the parollee upstairs. Another night I come home and get 2 DEA agents with guns drawn greeting me to a pat down upon pulling into my parking space. Guess who they were looking for?
Now the lease nears it's end and I decided not to resign (yeah I know what you're thinking, hard to find a good place etc, etc), I learn that my lovely upstairs neighbor has been Section 8 the whole time! So I actually was paying for 2 apartments!!! Moving night I went down to the basement, and yanked the electric meter head for 2D and dropped it in the creek!
Confession:
I was the idiot party neighbor at one time. Had a 1/2 a duplex for about 6 months, in the crap part of town when I was 22. Partied every night, usually from 10pm to about 4 or 5 in the morning. We talked with the cops at least once a week - at one piont a house two blocks away called the cops on us we were so loud. My roomy got hauled off a couple times because of it.
here's the kicker:
When we moved out, the lady (with 3 kids) that lived in the other 1/2 said she was "SAD TO SEE US GO, BECAUSE WE WERE THE BEST NEIGHBORS THEY HAD EVER HAD."
I lived in a city apartment before...next to a half way house...on a college campus...across the street from fraternity row. Who planned out that place?
Some of the guys were actually pretty nice, and like permanent security; each smoked a cigarette about every 15 minutes. Some of the guys were great to talk to, and it was ashame to see them there, though nice to see they were getting better. The others just must've had a nice judge, and skipped out of prison by a hair. I remember one group that used to come back from Monday night football BLASTED from the bars. They were the same group that kind of scared of some girls with all of the comments. It was like a dog seeing the mailman. They'd all get up, come the the front of the porch, stare, talk quietly amongst themselves about the girl, then just get rowdy. And the stories...holy jeez, you couldn't believe some of the things that came out of these guys mouths.
I have lived in the same place for 5 years. One person lives below me, never hear him. No one has lived above me for 4 years, or on one side. The other side, two women who, um, played for the other team, lived there for 6 months. I heard things through that bedroom wall no one should have heard, at least not without buying a ticket. Can't wait to move into the country (if i can find anyplace cheaper than 100,000 bucks an acre) and build me a house away from people...
Having moved to the city after 30 yrs in a small country town I'm ready to move back. When we left we sold our house, bought a new vehicle, and rented a moving truck, all in the space of 3 weeks. I could be out of here in 3 weeks....just got to pull the pin again. The only thing that keeps me sane is getting the boat on the water, and an occasional trip to the mountains for fishing/hunting/relaxing.
wow, I have it made. I have always wanted to live in the country, unfortunately I live
in a subdivision. But i have good neighbors their pretty good people. If I had to live in
the city around ppl like some of you have had to, I would probably go CRAZY! I feel
sorry for those who have to live around some of the trash that we call people.
I lived in a dormitory for college... I hated every second of it... I live on the outskirts of the city... but its getting much more populated every day...
I live on a Navy Des****** Tender for a year and a half, a Spruance class Des****** for another year and a half. So when I got out of the Navy and got my first apartment I felt free, even though I had two roomates. I've lived in apartments my whole life until two years ago I bought my first house when I met my fiance. We were sick of all our neighbors leaving two or three bags of trash in front of their doors becasues they were too lazy to walk to the dumpster more than once a week. It was digusting. We've never looked back. We can't wait to get our next house sometime in the next 3 - 5 years. I haven't had a neighbor problem for so long I forgot what it was like.
I live kinda in the country. The guy I bought my 2 acres from sold the 2 beside me to a guy he grew up with......he was a drunk...his girlfriend had 2 boys that did nothing but raise heck. They would ride their 4-wheeler late at night while we tried to go to sleep. I called the law on them many times. Fortunately...the kids have grown up....and have kids of their own. They still live at home though.
Anyway...it's quiter here.
i live in an apartment complex on the top floor. i have this nasty couple below me and all they do is sit outside and smoke. i cant stand the smell, it stinks up my apartment when i open the windows or doors. this happens evertime i try to open my doors/windows. they smell, stink, are loud somtimes, argue alot, and the other day i was outside when they opened the door to go into their apartment. them smell was horendous. to make matters worse they have an animal, and a infant. ahhhh ! i just hate cigarrette smoke smell. i dont have a problem with animals or kids just keep it clean. i hate nasty, dirty people.
