97 mountaineer tranny problems
have a 97 Mountaineer.. had a leaking pan gasket on the tranny.. when i dropped the pan , i replaced the filter and the seal for the filter.. then replaced the gasket and reinstalled. then filled to the proper level... after letting run for about 15 minutes, checked the level again... all sounds good so far,, thats what i thought,,,. moved the ****er lever a couple of times then put into reverse to pull out of the garage. but only to find out that all it would do was got forward,, and go forward in neutral,, as well as drive, 2nd and first. what could have happened to have caused this just by dropping the pan and replacing the filter.. had it towed to a shop and they say i need to have it rebuilt.. i dont think this is the way out,, as it was doing fine untill i droped the pan and did the filter. any help at all would be appreciated.
