towing mirrors

My truck had some crappy 3 point mirrors on it when I got it. The problem I had was they weren't wide enough for towing and yet were too wide to get the truck through the 1 car garage door. When I repainted the truck, I welded up all the factory and subsequent mirror mount holes and when it was done, I got a set of repros from an 80s Ford PU, the kind that are shaped like a 7 with the big heads on them. Then I got a set of extenders that mount on those that lets me slide the mirror head out another 6" when needed by turning a thumbscrew, but slide in when not needed. Now the whole frame swings in toward the door, and I can get the truck in the garage when I want and still be able to see behind my camper.

Thanks for the tips on mirrors and I love the this forum on our trucks. And the trucks also. The wife wants newer one I told her soon but I was going to keep the 77 it is part of the family and I know her attitudes and how to work on her.
