Well, Speed Vision is now toast and the Speed Channel is running. So far I have to admitt that it is disappointing. Many thought that it would become the NASCAR channel and it appears that it has. Hopefully, they will back off after Daytona and return to a more normal schedule. I like my NASCAR, BUT, I don't need it all the time nor do I desire it.
And taking a shot at NASCAR, I think it's a crock all the rule changes they have made just prior to the 500. It only proves IMHO that they will run the sport into the ground by trying to make the 4 manufactors equal. If they are going to be that screwed up, run only one NASCAR designed body style, otherwise they need to rethink what made the sport great.
What i would like to see them to do it just let the manufactures fight it out themselves, like it was in the old days. maybe have some stuff that has to be the same like fuel tanks size and tires, but what is the point of having differant manufactures in the sport if they want to make them all the same??
And why do they call it stock car racing, there isn't even 1 aspect of the car thats stock!

My friends say I'm too old to play with toys.
I need new friends
I have to correct you on the part about being stock cars, many pieces on the car are stock and you shoulf be able to take the pieces of the actual and bolt the pieces on to the nascar cars. I can't remember which pieces though, I think that they were the roof, nose quarter panels?, and deck lid. I think thats all.
I can't say I like the change too much. I tuned in on Wednesday evening to watch Ship Shape TV and found it was replaced by a NASCAR program. I have gleaned a lot of knowledge from this program, I refer to the host as the Bob Vila of boating and it has helped me tremenduosly in the restoration of my two boats. I guess that I'm going to have to buy the tapes now.
I gave up on NASCAR after they started running for money instead of points. The rule changes that have occured over the past few years have put the drivers lives in jepordy for the sake of giving the fans a "show". I miss the old days when they raced for the love of the sport. If you want to ruin orginized sports, just introduce big money to the mix. The sanctioning body should never care more about the "Show" than they do the participants.
I am not happy with the change - I have not seen anything I wanted to watch since the changeover, and am considering deleting the package the channel is in - I believe I am paying 7.50 for it, and it is no longer worth that.

Wouldn't be so bad if they were the ordinary 60 second crap, but taking a 1/2 hour or an hour is for the birds. Oh yeah, do you need a Roto Oven?
