Old Rangers
What is the deal with the old Rangers? When were these made? Why are the small trucks called Rangers now, when there were some full size ones. Why the change? Anybody have any ideas?

Old Rangers
The Rangers were F100s and not a seperate truck line. It was just another trim level name, just like Custom Cab, Lariat, XLT, XL, Eddie Bauer, etc. The Explorer trim line was also an F-Series truck.

Ranger 150 Explorer.

Is this dude peeved or is he exstatic? Anyway, I love these message boards. I can ask the questions on my mind without feeling too stoopid cause there is noone to give me a funny look or laugh at me to my face. THANKS EVERYBODY!!! I have always wondered about that, for years. Learn something new everyday, that's the only way to be!! That's why I love this site!! You guys are great!! I generally believe myself to be a great speller. I was just being dorky with the x. Do you correct everyone's spelling? Well, I usually want to, but try to keep it to myself. Also,if your comp is like mine, sometimes (no lots of times) I will hit a key and it won't show up. Happens real bad when posting a message as a matter of fact. Is this just me? I could get done a whole lot faster if I didn't have to type slow enough for the comp to keep up and hitting the backspace key to fix what didn't show up.

I know it's a Fine line about spelling and grammar.
BUT, I had person that was in my life that Always corrected me.
My *Mother* was raised in England where there is very strict
schooling regarding;spelling,grammar,vocabulary.
It was nothing personal and no dig was intended.:-X23
Yes, I do it all the time unless, I can see it was an Obvious mistake.

I have a 78 F-150 Ranger fullsize and a small 1983 Ranger.
The Ranger started as a trim level I think in the 60's somewhere and lasted until 1982. Then in 1983 it was just turned into a small truck line.
