I know all about the high pitch sqeak. That and the ridiculus amount of black dust on the wheels is what prompted me to change the pads/rotors. New pads are great! Very little dust & same stopping power. I did add powerstop rotors in the front b/c I put 20in wheels on at the same time. I paid less for the upgraded rotors than ford wanted for OEM.

Let me tell you about brakes. I replaced four rotors and pads on my 00 EB 4X$ 14 months and 30000 miles ago. Now all that work needs redone and I need new calipers. Hopefully the extended warranty will pay for the calipers. And the e-brake is a mighty big problem also, Tire Kingdom just ignored it last time and that is what roached the rear rotors.
Part of the problem is Tire Kingdom I am sure. Those guys are hacks.
What is the experience with pads? How many miles do others expect? How about rotors?
hey fkhcle, I just had my e-brake assembly replaced under warranty. It was siezed up. I have the ESP with 69k on my rig. Mine is a 2000, and the e-brake is inside the drum part of the rear disc. They didn't replace the disc/drum, but I had to do those anyway.
I wanted to go with Hawk, but they were backordered so I went with centric pads. I got them & rotors from buybrakes.com. $332 for four sets of pads & front powerslot rotors.
