302 to 351W

hey guys i have a truck, and i put a carb'd '83 302 in it. been running this for about 4 years now and i want to upgrade to something a lil meaner. ive narrowed it down to a carb'd 351W, topped off with a 4 bbl victor jr. intake and a eldebrock 600cfm carb. im having trouble finding much info and specs on recent 5.8L

im just wondering what 351's put out for horse power etc, and maybe what my best choice for a donar vechile would be. idealy id like to get an older one, maybe '69-'72, but the chances of coming across one without needing a rebuild are pretty low.

any help would be great!

If you could find a 351W High Performance that would be the ticket... You would find that in a mustang. If you get really lucky and find a 351 Cleveland, that would make a lot more power. I'd try to find a 351W from a pre 75 large ford car, then build it up with some AFR or Ford Racing heads, a Comp Cams 265 DEH, a Demon 625 carb, forged pistons and Sealed Power A series bearings. Good luck, and Welcome to FTE

yeah id really like to keep it to a windsor, i want to keep my motor mounts the same as the 5.0, and i think the big block would tear my lil truck apart
