Where is the PCM?

Where is the PCM?
According to my Haynes manual its supposed to be on the passenger side of the engine compartment
Guess what its not 
Does anybody have any idea where the alternate locations are
Its a 94, 4.0, 2wd, ext cab 5 sp. I have a connector of some sort on the driver side down next to the fender but it does not look like the connector in the haynes manual, the cable is not very thick.
I know some vehicles have their computers inside the passenger compartment behind the kick panels, does the ranger???
If its inside please advise best way to get to it.

Where is the PCM?
Like I posted on the other board, driver side cowl between the fender inner and outer skin. Accessible from the engine compartment. Look outboard from the brake booster and down by the apron for the electrical connectors. This location is only on 93 and 94 Rangers.
