I have an 86 f250 with 460. It has air conditioning and I don't want to disconnect the a/c lines and related stuff when I change out the cam and timing gears.
Can I do this without disconnecting the a/c?
I really want to run straight up timing on this but don't want to goof up the a/c.
To change the cam you have to remove:
Antifreeze
hoses
Radiator
A/C condenser
Grill
Fan shroud
Fan
A/C compressor
Power steering pump
Alternator
Air pump (s)
Pulleys
All brackets
Harmonic balancer
Water pump
Timing chain cover
Air filter
Vacuum lines
Intake manifold with carb
Valve covers
Rocker arms
Pushrods
Lifters
Timing chain and gears
Camshaft
Did I miss anything?
You have to release the refrigerant charge from the a/c system to remove the condenser
This is NOT a job for a beginner!
