ok, I am going crazy here! I have a 1984 Ford Ranger. It has a v-6 engine. Here is my problem:
When I start it, it runs PERFECT while just in park, idle. BUT, When I put it in gear, and say, turn on the radio while the windsheild wipers are on, I can see everything slow down, and then the headlights dim, and it stalls on me at the red lights or stop signs. Anyone have any ideas? I am brand new to this board, so I hope I am posting this in the right spot. Thanks for any one who can help me. My email is mr300sm@nycap.rr.com.
Thanks so much!!
batt or altenator. check voltage on your battery before and after starting. u should get around 12 before and between 13 to 14 1/2 when running. if not could be the altenator or wiring harness to it. Sometimes just need to clean up all connections and ground connections.
Thank you I found a bad ground on the motor block. Can Get it to come off of block. But removed At battery and cleaned There . Sprayed Bolts with screw loose . Pulled up to red light with everthing turned on , Lights, fog light ,radio,heat.....and didnot stall. Think I got it . Thank you for your help
