Injector Problems???

I'm posting this for a friend of mine who has an early build 6.0 (built in the spring of 03, took delivery 06 of 03) that currently has 108,000 miles on it. He tells me at 98k, he lost an injector, relaced under warranty. Lost another one at 102k and now at 108k, he's lost 3 of 4 on one bank...this bank being the one that had the 2 replaced earlier. He's about at "wits end" concerning this and can get no explanation why all of a sudden the injectors are failing. He wanted me to go on this forum and ask all of you if you have had alot of injector failuers? He's not gettting alot of answers from the dealership, just expensive repair tickets since it's out of warranty. This truck has also had a idle problem almost from day one that they could never seem to fix and at 58k, the air conditioner quit completely and that was only good for warranty up to 50k. The big issue right now is the injectors.....some feed back please. Thanks.

Never had an injector failure in the first HARD 40K miles on my early 03 with c94 injectors....

Have him contact Ford - c94's are a known "weak" link...

I would be interested in more information though just to see what Ford says....

I have march 03 build 6.0 with 22,000 miles and never had a problem until 20,000 miles then I noticed the idle at stop lights would be rough with truck in gear. Tried adding Power Service to tank no change tried draining water from fuel no change. Bought EBP sensor off e-bay for 50.00 no change had no choice but to bring in truck. Just got my baby back was missing on # 8 bad injector changed injector (NO FLASH I HAVE STOCK FLASH) like new again. So I guess sit and wait for the other 7 to go bad.

I also have the march 03 build with C94 injectors and coming up on 25,000 miles. So far so good. Just got the latest flash. Runs like it did when I bought it except without PI. I run Stanadyne or PS in every tank.

A good reason for the guys (like me) with early '03s to check the oil level often and have an oil analysis done periodically - next change will be my first at 26,000 miles.

First oil analysis that is, not first oil change

I've had four blackstone samples done so far. Last one at 20,000 miles and everyone was at <0.5 percent fuel. So I'm thinking the injector failed electronically is this possible

I think that all of the flashes since about August of '03 have disabled the PI, certainly since October.

That was supposed to be flash not flast....mind is too fast for the fingers. So if the PI is disabled we should not have injector problems, right?

That was the excuse that got floated around after they first took it away. I never saw anything official on it. Maybe some others have more docs on the issue.

PI is gone for sure. Would that eliminate injector problems, no. Some are bound to crop up, but it sure helps.
