Question Engine Stumble

I have a 97 Explorer XLT w/auto trans. You can hear the engine stumble during idle. It's not enough to make the RPMs to go up and down but you hear it. It doesn't do it , that I can tell, when the vehicle is being driven. I've used fuel injector cleaner and I keep the air filter clean along with changing plugs and wires as needed. I've changed the fuel filter as well. I was thinking maybe an O2 sen... or EGR valve. I was told that my Explorer has to two O2 sen.. and that one of them has a problem of going bad.I would like to know if anyone else has heard that and I would loke to be able to test those items but I need more info on how or even if those could be the problems. Any ideas would be great thanks.

Have you pulled the engine codes yet? I was thinking it could be the TPS(throttle position sensor), but I would think the RPMs would fluctuate.

NO I haven't. The check engine light has not came on. Will there be codes if the light hasn't came on?

Yes, there can be. Most Autozones will pull the codes for free. Once you have the codes, post them to this board, and you will get lots of suggestions.
