gonna pull the head in the morning. got a lifter not looking to good at the bottom. motor wasnt turning that fast when it happened cant figure out why yet. we will see tommorow
the lifter in the front valve looks good and the second one is laying sideways im not real familiar with the lifters in theese motors i dont know if it was be fished back up where it needs to be
I'll bet the lifter that jumped out of it's bore was the one with the broken push rod. It just wasn't held down and the camshaft doing it's normal duty just popped it up. But what made the pushrods bend in the first place??? Siezed valve guides? Some mechanical interference with the rocker arms? The broken push rod was just weak and when it broke the pieces interfered with the other one to bend it like that?
Can you take a picture of any of the rest of the pushrods? I noticed both the rods in the picture have a wear mark about 2" from the top of the rod......I'm wondering if any of the good rods share this damage.
