I know im not supposed to but i have been running without a thermostat all summer. Well its time to put one back in so i bought a new one. Its a 180 degree. It seems that when my engine is warmed up the temp gauge has barely moved up onto the scale. Is my thermostat too cool????

Be very, very careful here depending on what year Bronco II you have. On a 1984 Bronco II the t-stat goes in the lower radiator hose. Every Bronco II after that has the t-stat where it should be. I purchased an 85 Bronco II with overheating problems. It had T-stats in both locations. It had a cracked head because of it.
195 degrees would be the correct T-stat.
Oh yeah! The next time you post a question please be more specific about the vehicle. There are differences.
Buy a thermostat at NAPA to make certain you get the right one. I bought a couple at other stores and the truck wouldn't warm up. One wouldn't even fit the housing.
sorry i didnt put more info, I ask questions constantly here so i figured you guys would know by now all about my bronco. Its an 89 2.9L efi. Im not completely retarded, i know theres not two t stats in my engine. It never did warm up all the way when i was driving it this summer.. it was great. I got it from the dude behind the parts counter at a Checker Auto... he looked up my specific bronco and there were like 7 t stats from different brands ranging from 180-195, i figured the cooler the better since they were all designated for the b2 with the 2.9L so i got the coolest one on the list. Now i ask again, is it too cool?
