My 87' ranger's dash is cracked. Where could i get a replacement? Also the fabric on the ceiling or whatever. I need both but don't know where to look.
How much do you think some one at a junkyard would charge for one? I'm looking for other things like a new tailgate. A new window assembly for the driver side door and a few other things.
Your best bet with a junkyard is to get a package deal, get involved by asking to go into the yard, helping to take the parts off if you can. Carry the armloads back and try to make an offer. By now, your dirty and have earned a discount. If a yard don't let me have my way with a vehicle, I go to another yard. It's an 87 right? Those parts should be rock bottom price wise because of a very low demand for them. Also, try ebay or the like, it's amazing , some of the deals. One more thing. Spending 200 bucks for a whole parts truck is always a good deal.
Yes its an 87. So you say they oughta be fairly cheap? Reckon i gotta go to a junkyard now. Thanks for the help you guys. Does anyone know how much work it is to take the dash off? I haven't even tried yet but i know mines not repairable.
For the headliner, there are detail shops all over everywhere that will replace your headliner for $100 or less. They basically pull out and strip the headliner, then use spray adhesive to glue the fabric to the cardboard headliner and then they stick it back in the truck.
Takin' the dash out isn't too bad...It pretty much pops off with, let's say, a firm grip. There are those pesky pop-in anchors that hold down pretty much any piece of plastic on any vehicle anywhere. And heck, if it's already broken, pull harder! Just kidding, I guess I wouldnt recommend that
Good Luck!
