I Drive a 5.8 liter full sized Bronco and the fuel gauge doesn't work which is very frusterating calculating the miles that I have driven and the fuel in my tank. Everything else works real well I would just like to know how much fuel I have at all times. Does anyone have any Ideas on what could be the problem.
Most likely a bad fuel sending unit and float in the tank. Very common problem with broncos. I think someone has done a techwrite up on how to fix it Should'nt be too hard to replace...lowering the tank.
I have had to replace 2 fuel floats on my Bronco and one on my F150. The same thing, they get a tiny pinhole and fill with fuel. Very annoying. You can buy the brass floats new for a few dollars.
On my 89, the fuse panel is under the dash, right above where your left foot sits. Mine still has the fuse schematic on the back of it that showed what is what. I think it was listed as Fuel Guage.
it doesnt say anything on the cover of the fuse box about the guage, i looked in hayes and theres nothing either. I was pulling all the fuses but got ****ed cause it was cold and i didnt have any pliers handy
