I think you are in luck in that on the '94 and earlier models you don't have to remove (or pull back) the entire dash to get at the heater core. Haynes Manual has the procedure set out pretty good.
undo the hoseclamps, remove the heater core cover 6 screws?, pick up and out on the core. up and in and put it together. we did my son's at 5am in the weekday morn and I was at work by 630. tigerdan gave us the tips.
Ok that wa a heck of alot EASIER than I thought it would be. Thumbs up to the guy at FORD for making it so. Too bout 40min from start to finish, now if only other repairs could be so easy.
