Yes. I have a 1995 ranger XL with 4.0 V6. When it is really hot outside the "door ajar" light comes on in the dash panel and it makes the digging sound which can get really irritable. I have checked the doors are always closed real good. When it is morning or cooler temperature outside it doesn't do it. But when it hot "90+" that light and digging comes on. Most of the time it just goes off after about ten minutes but the past couple of days it has been extremely hot, over 100 sometimes, and it keeps doing it and won't go off. I thought this was a warning of some sort from the computer but the computer doesn't show anything on a scanner. I know its not the door not closing right because when its not very hot outside it doesn't do it. The temperature meter in the dash doesn't show it getting any warmer than it usually is. The scanner showed everything fine. But if that bell doesn't stop ringing I don't know what i will do..its enough to make you go crazy and the dome light is on so its hard to drive in evening. I would just take the Fuse out but i have no diagram or the shop book and don't know which one it is. Any help would be great. Thanks
Door chime switch is sticking. Alot of folks have cured it with WD-40. I've heard about it being sprayed on the latch mechanism and also inside the door. Search the previous posts for "door chime" and you'll find lots of info.
