I may be splitting hairs, but I thought powdercoating and chrome plating are 2 different things.
As far as chrome goes....... can you say 3 ton truck. You would fry the brakes the first time you tried to stop. Assuming you could get it going.

yeah, croming will be heavy, ever picked up part of a body normally, think about that about 3 times as heavy with chroming on it, i mean you may be able to go with like fake chrome paint, but not a true chroming, that would be way too much weight

fordtrucklover94 is correct. Anything that is chrome plated weighs quite a bit more than the original. Chrome wheels for example. They are very heavy.

Here you go. There are new chrome paints out there now.(not spray can crap) Very neat stuff, and looks good. But if you want to do a truck you better have a deep pocket book. I have used and sell one called motochrome. There is a very envolved process to use it.
