That's kind of misleading. I think that the Exploder that is mentioned in the links is the old body style or the 2 door Expl. sport (2 door) or sport trac. In 02 they went to an IFS in the rear. The pumpkin is mounted solidly to the frame and half shafts run down through portholes in the frame. I think that is why there haven't been any lifts for the new body style 02 Exploder. There is really no way that you can lower the rear axle since the halfshafts pass through the frame. I haven't seen many lifts for it.
You could always trim the fenders and you might be able to fit some bigger tires... maybe a body lift...

I believe this to be correct. There was a thread in GC a little while back about this. I don't remember the exact year but they were mentioning that a lift was impossible due to the rear axles.
