I Currently Have A 80amp Alt With A New Battery
I Have A 200 Watt Amp 2 Channel And 2 10's Each One Handles 300 Watts A Piece
I Was Thinking Of Getting A Bigger Amp But Don't Want To Blow My Alt Or Battery Cuase I Don't Want To Be Towing My Truck Home
I Was Thinking In The Range 400-600 Watts 2 Channel Or 4channel

I don't think you're gonna have any problems upgrading. Right now I have a 400 watt amp, and 2 12's which can handle 600-700 wRMS each, and my amp is putting about 150 wRMS x 2 right now, and I have no problems, I have a B2 also. Just check all your connections, make sure the + batt cable is good, and check grounding and you should be good.
You should be fine getting that size of amp; however, with the dual 15's... I'd purchase a capacitor if possible. That way you can shoot the juice to the subs when you really need it.
my buddy just gave me his 600watt 4channel amp
so now i got a bigger amp what type of wire do i use the same one i got now or better
cap huh didn't think of that. thank romer and andy you guys are helping out alot
would it be possible to put both amps to work
i was thinking putting my 200 to work the dash 4inch speakers or my door speaker
and the 6004channel to power the mid rear 5x7 and the subs or am i thinking to much
or just go with the subs and forget about the mid rear quater panel 5x7's
4 gauge ok got it i'll be looking for that any make better than the other
like streetwires or mosnter cable?
I have monster cable RCA's and street wires as my power leads, depends on what you want, i also know phoenix gold has amp wiring kits for a pretty good price. You could add both amps, but you would need a multiple amp wiring setup, not too difficult a task. If I were you, I would power your back half with the 200 w amp and then your subs with the 600 4 channel bridged to 2 channels. Is the 200 w amp 2 or 4 channel? Also whichever speakers are better at power handling, the fronts or backs, for the amp. Your limit is whatever you want it to be.
No, you don't need a cap, IMO they're pointless. I think the 80 should be fine for a while, upgrade wiring though from like alt. to battery and ground to block, and grounding on your amps. Sounds like you'll be doing pretty good. Just curious, how old are you monty06?
