Hey everybody. I was listening to an old Trace Adkins CD and heard the song "Chrome." This got my mind wondering...."Is chrome really a color?" I don't know for sure, but I'll probably say no, it's a 'tint' LOL. What do you think?

I voted yes, however I do have to say it is a color that should not be "painted" on. Should be done right, DIPPIN'
If the poll said "painted color" I would have to say NO WAY!!
Chrome is a treatment; a coating. "Chromed grille" for example. Some old folks called it a dye, but you can't mix white and light together and get chrome.
Is "iron" a color? Is "steel" a color? I suppose "copper," "bronze," and "brass" are often used as colors, but in the end, they're all elements or alloys. Instead of saying, "that has a copper-like color," we say "the color of that is copper." So to whatever extent something may LOOK like chrome, we would probably use the word 'chrome' as a color, but 'chrome' was originally a plating process as others have already stated.
