Customizing Shifter??

i was just settin around, doing a lil brainstormin and wonderin, If i take a shifter off a ZF5, cut the end off it, then take a shifter off an NP435, cut the end off it and welded them together, could i use the shifter off the ZF5 in my truck then as long as i change the ends?? just wonderin and curious if i would be the only one to have this done???

Yea, I feel pretty safe in saying you would be the only one to have done that

That would work as long as the tranny end is not damaged in the process, and the shifter won't hit the dash or seat when shifting. Go for it...
