Everyone complains about the weak power output of the 3.0 V6 in the ranger, but I don't think it does too bad. I have a 2000 Ford Ranger Supercab 4x4 with the off road package. It has 4.10 gears and I modifyed it with a Gibson exhaust and K+N air filter. I wouldn't race a Ranger with a SOHC 4.0, but maybe a 4.0 OHV (not modifyed of course).
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Aug-02 AT 10:58 PM (EST)]to the only reason is the 4.10 gears. I had a 01 3.0 with 3.73 and all that shows is if you got on my HONDA CBRf4I 600cc six speed you would poop in your pant's! 0-60 STOCK=2.3 sec 1/4 mile in 7.9 sec in Brandon FL
My pos ranger best was 17.46 sec.. You think rangers have power.
