Guys, I have an option of trading in my current truck (1992 300 I-6 carbed, 4x2, C-6 Bronco) for a 1993 302 V-8 EFI, 4x4 E4OD Bronco. I'd have to put in a $1000 extra. I'd do this to get better mileage and of course 4x4. Is it worth it?, should I invest the $1K on mods for my current truck instead ?, thanks...!
What are you planning on useing it for? The 4x4 would be great and worth it in my opinion, but check out the E40D and make sure it's in good shape as your C6 is more stout but missing the OD feature. If you're after milage then go with the OD and EFI.
????????? 4x2 Bronco?? i thought they never made a 2wheel dive bronco???? and carbed 4.9 in 1992????? wow!!!! where did you get that bronco???? the 300 was EFI in 1989 or maybe even 1987?????

The truck is in Columbia...the interior is kinda cool to look at...check out his gallery.
Mine is a Venezuelan version. All of the 2WD Broncos here (mostly late 1980s, early 1990s, most with the 300cid). Thus the carb, 2WD, etc. The option I have is also Venezuelan. Most mid 1990s Broncos here are also Venezuelan, all with the 302 EFI, A/Ts are E4ODs, or stick shift 5-speed. I've heard such a setup gets like 14 mpg while I get 9mpg!, even w/ a 4x2. I use my truck for daily driving, mild hauling, no towing and want to do some off-roading eventually (just for fun not competition). I do have a $1K budget so it is either swapping trucks or improving my current Bronco (except for 4x4, only mileage & performance)....
Well, most 1993-96 Broncos down here have the 302 EFi, 4WD and E4OD (for A/T ones) configuration. Furthermore, they are pretty common although most people (who haven't owned one for the most part...) try to stay away from them because of mileage, thus they're cheap so I could say it's pretty easy to find one, just wonder if it is worth the swap or whether it's better just keep my 300 carbed C-6 etc and do some mods to it...
Go with 302 and the E4OD. I have a 91 silver anniversary with 136,000 on it and it runs great. I actually get better milage in my Bronco than my 94 F-150 4.9 automatic. Go figure?
yeah, i think you should go for the bronco with the 302. There should be tons of more mods vs the I-6, it will be lots of fun to off-road, and also knowing you have a vehicle capable of doing so is a good thing.
