chiefs are the team of choice. the only time period when the chiefs were a little embarassing was when Grbac was the quarterback... I still stood by them... I can't stand fair weather fans. I also can't stand women that claim to be huge football fans, and can't begin to explain how a trap play on offense works... that drives me freakin insane.
Ouch, somebody had to mention the Royals. How embarrassing. 1985 might be a long time ago, but I'm sure there are some other city's fans who have waited longer (the Cubs come to mind). The Royals have become a glorified farm team for the richer clubs. Beltran, Damon, Byrd, Dye, Suppan, and now Randa....
That's what's so much more interesting for NFL fans - a true salary cap. I know there are ways to fudge the cap, but compared to baseball it is much better.
Ummmmmm.........How about GO EAGLES!
sorry had to hijack, feeling very good about the birds right now. Worried a little about the steelers this week though.
who mentioned the broncos...? seriously... the broncos are on their way down the chute. The Chiefs on the other hand are working UP the ladder. They're gonna wail on the broncos later this season.
I've been a fan since day one - literally. When I was in high school I used to work in the old Municipal Stadium selling concessions, when the Chiefs first came up from Texas. I used to wonder why guys would pay the rip off prices for a coke, and then have me fill it only half way.
Good story, PChristman. I went to the old Municipal stadium a couple of times to see the Royals (Joe Foy was my favorite player the first year they played - 1969, then Amos Otis after that). I even went to a KC Athletics game, but don't remember much other than the fireworks when a home run was hit.
Bleeding Purple here.
Chiefs have one hell of a fan base.
wish we had a outdoor stadium like you fans have.
I have to say chiefs fans are some of the best supporting
their team.
I was at the game chiefs vs vikes at the dome last year when the vikes kicked butt.
sat next to a chief fan he was gone at halftime
I,ve bled Bill's red white and blue through good and bad. Like them, the cheifs are a teem on the rise again. Must be tough to score 31 points and still lose the game.
Won't hear nothing from Eagles fans? Your right, the Steelers brought the Birds back down to Earth. Did Eagle Nation really think they were gonna be 16-0? Hardly!

The Athletics used to have sheep in the outfield to mow the grass. Charles Finley (Charlie O) did lots of stuff, like putting white shoes on his team when the league wouldn't recind the old rule against white socks. He had a rabbit behind the plate that would pop up out of the ground with a basket of ***** whenever the umpire needed a fresh one. Sadly, he's also responsible for the designated hitter.
When I moved back to KC with my family, I drove by the old stadium to show them, but couldn't find it. It's all been torn down and filled in, and is now some kind of community vegetable garden.
