Since everyone seems to disagree with everything I say, how about I just say that Ford makes great trucks. I don't give a ##### whether mine has a 3 liter or not, I still like it and don't regret buying it.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Aug-02 AT 00:04 AM (EST)]`00R.4x4 - Man, I am in TOTALITARIAN agreement w\ you. Ford obviously owns the truck world and my STOCK `99 3.0 4x4, 8.8-rear w\ 4.10's (AM concerned about the Auto Trans - though so far, 62,000+ - so great!) has PERFORMED in everything that I've demanded from it - I personally know two guys who have 200,000 + miles, one guy uses it to supplement his moving business (carries extra items that may not make it on the moving trucks, supplies, equipment, tools, etc., multiple drivers, - LETS SOME OF HIS MOVERS - YOUNG MOVERS - DRIVE IT!) and swears you can't break (KILL) this motor! I think those who disagree are either; 1. SPEED Freaks, 2. Too young to know any better (or maybe don't fully grasp the value of a dollar as well as DEPENDABILITY) or 3. JUST LIKE TO ARGUE. This engine speaks for itself and for good, solid, old-fashioned, traditional VALUES -TANGIBILITY ! It gets the job done WITHOUT any of the taunting and overkill and hysterical celebration that is overly prevelant in America lately (last 15-20 year's). Bottom line - I rest my case - PERIOD.

Thank you for agreeing with me Toughlover. My truck is virtually the same as yours except for mine being a 2000. I think it does alright with the 4.10 gears, it probably wouldn't be too impressive with higher gears, though. You are right about the transmission, it's not the best one to roll off of Ford's assembly line. I think the worst part about it is a really weak shift from 1st to 2nd gear. Sometimes it has a long hesitation. It seems to me the less gas you give it the weaker the shifts are.
