Where did you get this information? Do you have the brochure?
Chuck
I guarantee that no truck got the Cruise O Matic transmission... thats a 2 speed car tranny, that was put behind the little sixes.
I eat, breathe, sleep, & live 67-79 ford trucks, I own 5 of them.... I don't need a brochure... I've seen many dealer special trucks, which is most likely what you have. A dealer special truck is one that was customized by the dealer's paint & body shop, some also had special Air Conditioning packages, where a particular combination couldn't get AC, but was a truck that was headed for Texas or other desert states, and probably wouldn't sell if it didn't have AC.
I've also seen just about every combination of Ford truck that Ford Motor company produced, I even have/had a couple rare ones.
who are you refering to are refering to lockie or the guy with the texas ranger
cruise trans are also in 3 speed
I think that we have more truck then you. We have had 10 this year alone and why would you want to deal with 67-72 f100 they are **** anyway.I'm only 15 yrs and ive had more trucks than u
The C6, C4, and FMX trannies are 3 speed non overdrive transmissions... The Ford O Matic and Crusie O Matic are 2 speed, light duty car transmissions. The Ford O Matic is an Iron case tranny and the Cruise O matic is an aluminum case, other than that, they are the same.

I see that you are a new user, Welcome to FTE!
can you please sensd me same pictures of your trucks and i will send you same of mine
You guys are all incredible. I'm impressed by the amount of knowledge and research you have at your disposal.
Yes, the pu has color keyed hub caps as well as a headache rack that is painted (obviously) the same metallic copper color as the rest of the pu. I suspect it was at least painted with the hubcaps..
It does have ac and the interior (dash/steering column) is painted tan as well.
I can take some pictures, but am unsure as to where to post them. Are you guys wanting me to mail them to you direct? I guess I could. If anyone has anymore research or knowledge I would appreciated it.
Because of the things I have learned here, I have decided to replace parts/tires etc. with the original spec stuff. Nylon tires are rough riding bitches, but I'll ride them. If you have Ideas where I can get a hood ornament, and replace the original seatcovers I would appreciate it.
I'm really a mopar guy and have just decided to get into the fords. any help would be appreciated.

I'd like to see pics of this pickup too. Post them in your gallery so we can all see them.
Dennis Carpenter reproductions sells repo hood ornaments, and maybe a seat cover too. Any good upholstery shop can recover your seat to be just like new...
i bought a truck earlier this year at an auction for 100 bucks just because it was cheap and a ford of course towed it home popped the hood and was very happy to find a 460 and 4 core radiator upon more reveiw of my cheapy i found a/c factory duel tanks c/6 and a posi nine inch oh and get this original plug wires no {word edited out} and when i dropped in a battery fired up and purred like a kitten took the motor out last week and dropped it in my 77 highboy with the 4 core and let me tell you it loves the mud but anyway there were half tons with 460's this one might even be a f-100 will have to look tomorrow
Interesting finding. I purchased the pickup from a fellow who bought it off the dead rancher. I told him it was a 460, and not a 390. He argued, he said that when he purchased 460 plugs they didn't fit, so went back, exchanged them for 390 plugs and they DID fit. Has anyone heard of this before, or was this some part store boo-boo?
Also, How would I know a 6-core radiator? Mine is shown in the Haynes manual as some Giant down-flow radiator. Big hose at the top, even bigger one at the bottom.
Also, This pu has dual exhaust w/glass packs. The pipes don't seem to be original and are cut off under the bed of the pu. The engine label clearly says that the engine is non-catalytic converter, it actually says that, and I want to know. Where did the tail pipes apprear originally? poking out the back? under the truck? right - left side? I figure someone here would know.
Those xlt luxury trucks also had the outside moldings that were finished in brown even the rubber strip on the top piece was brown the tailgate letters and upper tailgate trim was painted brown the instrument suround was all finished in woodgrain not just the outer edge go to blueovaltruckparts.com go to gallery then go to 2003 f100 nationals page 9 and there is 3 pictures of one. These are neat trucks you see them still around hou. tx. know were one is sitting now just dieing in a driveway in pasadena.
