AC Compressor Clunk

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I have a 2005 F350 with electronic air conditioning.

I have noticed that while the air or heat is on and I am sitting idle at a stop light I will get a clunk noise that I can feel through my brake pedal aprox every 30 sec or so. Its like when the compressor is cycling on and off. Or maybe the air diverter flap is opening and closing. Is this normal? It is kind of annoying.

Is your truck gas or diesel?

I always notice that on my little 4 banger Ranger, you can hear the A/C compressor cycle, and you can feel it in the pedals. Funny thing is, I seem to notice it when I drive someone else's vehicles too. However on my PSD, I feel nothing at all, and I can't hear the compressor unless I pop the hood and put my ear right next to it.

Anyone else have a theory? That's just my opinion, and something I observed when I first got my F-250.

I have an 01 diesel, and hear/feel the AC compressor clunk in the mornings when I first start up, after it has been sitting for awhile. After that I may hear it every once in a while. However, I dont' seem to feel it in the brakes or steering. But there is a definate clunk when the compressor clutch engages. I wonder if that is bad for it?

I have had my '04 for not even 2000 miles yet, and I get the same thing. When I have the heater on in the morning, I come to a stop sign and it sounds like something is trying to get into the truck.

I shut the heat off and all better.

I was out with a flash light and traced the noise to the clutch on the compressor. I put the truck in park turn the Auto climate control on and I can watch the clutch stop and make a loud clack. It starts up again "clack" I think that noise transfers up the brake pedal. I wonder if applying some bearing grease or lithium grease to the clutch might help?????
