i just got a 95 supercab 4.0 with automatic iwant to get a deep low rumbling exhaust for cheep cause it has 135,000 miles so i dont feel like putting 2 much money into it
If you want to get more sound for cheap, try one of the 'glass pack' mufflers. The red tube that that replaces your stock muffler. Many muffler shops keep them in stock and it sounded great, without being too loud on my '92 with 3.0 v6.
flowmaster 40 series cat back dont cost too much
I think the glasspack would sound too "Harsh" on a 4.0
I know if you do get a glasspack get the longest one you can.
thats my opinion anyway

Yeah I agree with rand, my flowmaster 40 cat back dual exhaust only set me back about $220, and it was cutsom bent and hung for me, other wise I'd go with a real long cherry bomb or something of that nature...
I have a cherrybomb glasspack on my 93 4.0 and it sounds great. At idle the motor purrs, and when you stand on it she barks. Best $20 I spent on my truck.
My 2-cents. I put a dual outlet Flowmaster 40 on my "01 4 Liter and then ran left and right pipes out of the muffler (quasi dual pipes).
I didn't like it. Too quiet. I cut the brand new muffler out and threw it away. Replaced it with a "Y" pipe adapter and a section of straight pipe. My 01-Ranger 4-Liter has no muffler(s). It sounds great. It's not loud. It's mellow at idle and rumbles real nice when going down a hill in second gear at approximately 25 MPH. The only time I notice the lack of muffler is when I really punch it. But even then it's not excessively loud.
I recommend that you try straight pipe(s). If you think it's too harsh you can cut out a section of pipe and hang a glass pack in place.
Oh, one more thing. Don't be alarmed when you first start the cold engine after the installation. It always idles louder when the engine is cold.

Just make sure thats street legal. Since rangers have no turbos.
They need an emission noise control device(i forget the legal wording). For the truck to be legal.
