what's a good paint to use on a frame? i was going to grind the frame down and paint it with "tremclad" black, but i'm sure there's something better out there. thanks!
I just did mine with a semi gloss black... The paint is from CAT (Caterpillar) the primer eats into rust and stops it, and the black looks nice 60 bucks for a gallon of each and reducer... Didn't use it all either. Seems to be holding up just fine, we'll see what winter brings
I'm not quite sure, but I believe they have a website..... probably por15.com but they recommend buying the metal ready and marine cleaner they have for the por15 to be most effective. I have tried the metal ready and it really does prepare the metal nice for the por15.
well, thanks for the info guys. ya i think i'll go for the quart to start off with and go from there. i checked out their website and the product seems impressive. thanks!

Take a look at Zero Rust. Two coats dry to just about the perfect (in my opinion anyways) semi-gloss for a frame. Performs better than poor15 (I can refer you to the independent tests) for stopping rust. Runs about $50 a gallon. Available in rattle cans (which poor15 isn't available in). Unused quantities will keep on your shelf for about forever (which poor15 doesn't do).
Hey 66FDtruck, did you use a brush or did you spray it on? I have the POR here, probably get at in a week or so and was hoping that the brush on technique dident look too bad?
Great, thanks 66. I used Por once many years ago on a Jeep project and it held up excellent. I'm going to do the whole frame on my 94 F150, so I'm looking forward to it being finished, not the job itself though!
