Boat trailering
What is the width of your load? Do you need "OVERSIZE LOAD" signs and all the rules that go along with it? Several friends have to follow the oversize rules...No driving after dark, pull into all ports of entry etc.
Our current boat is a 24 ft Four Winns- Small cruiser but a great little boat. We have our eye on a 29 ft Four Winns cruiser. The 29 footer requires the oversize protocol.
The beam is 8'6", Crownline 27', traded in my boat on this one. Here in Kentucky, I haven't heard of anyone being pulled over for this width. I think the state law is 8'0".
A lot of the boats being towed are 8-6. Do you leave it in the water during the season or trailer it? What is your tow vehicle?
I interviewed Morton-Thiecol (sp.?) about 15 years ago, Northern Utah is nice country.
Kind of scared me working with solid fuel for rockets though, kind of like having 27ft behind my truck.

Thanks for the info, it's printing right now before the moderator "cops" come and get ya. I guess I'll be breaking the laws in Ky. but a lot of the trailered boats are 8'6" and a lot of boaters in this state, have never heard of anyone getting fined.
My tow vehicle: 03 F250 CC 6.0 bought new, now has 41,000 miles.
We keep the boat at our house and tow to the Flaming Gorge, Lake Powell and a few smaller reservoirs- When we get the 29 footer, I will use the oversize signs etc. and keep it at the house... Am currently looking at putting up a metal building: A big metal building!
When you were interviewing at Morton-Thiokol, that is our neck of the woods .
You started a great thread
