It seems I didn't fix my weird ABS problem. The background is the ABS seems to go off at very slow speeds and without even touching the brakes! Slow tight left turns seems to cause a 'buzz' in the system and slow deceleration as you lighten up on the peddle as you are just about stopped seems to set the thing off. The brakes work fine in a panic situation as I have tested that. This has occurred since I have done a brake job (all four wheels). The ABS light has never gone off(so no error codes??). Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? Any suggestions would be appreciated as this ^%$&%)## problem is driving me . Oh ya the system is four wheel ABS and I didn't open the bleeder screw when I compressed the calipers in the front to put in the new pads. I have heard that this may have done some damage. Does anyone know what the worst case scenario is here.... I'm confused?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Aug-02 AT 12:42 PM (EST)]You don't need to open the bleeder screw, the fluid just goes back into the MC. I would look at the wiring, check for binding and bad connections and a dirty sensor. Are you still under warranty.

The fluid won't do anything to the HCU? Cool... as for warranty no such luck but I will certainly check the wiring and sensors. Thanks.
The worst case scenario is (in your words ABS "again") get `em fixed - now. Most folks WILL sue you if - Dear God forbid - you have ANY vehicle control "issues", and are involved in an accident - and ALL insurance co. lawyers WILL SUE. And if they know YOU WERE AWARE of the situation - they WILL win in court. Some folks are ruthless - they may CLAIM emotional trauma, destruction of their entire lives because you "chose" to drive a TRUCK, "KNOWING" your brakes were\are not performing as they were designed and intended to. Even if there was\is a "questionable" safe\unsafe issue - it could spell 'financial' disaster for you - I'm not even going to go into the other potentialities (physical bodily injuries, children, pedestrian's). Please, for your own sake if not for anyone else, at least have your modern, electronic braking system "checked-out" by someone who's livelihood depends on your safety, and our's. You may find you sleep a little more restfully - and I know I would. Thanks in advance - Glenn
Dude have a bud lite read the first post ""The brakes work fine in a panic situation as I have tested that."" the porblem is as "said" the abs kicks in at slow speeds... maybe the Computer is sending a single out the the peace in the brake system is working to hard.
