High idle after warm-up
I have a 90 explorer(4wd,4.0v6efi,autotrans)with 114,000 miles on it.Motor runs strong, trans in good shape. This vehicle idles fairly well(fluctuates a bit 250rpm up and down)but my problem is thatafter warm up,when put into park or neutral, the idle sits at about 2600rpm.Putting it back into gear at that high of an idle isn't good for the trans.I thought the iac was the culprit,so at normal idle I disconnected it,and the idle dropped a bit. Then, when idling high,Idisconnected it,and the idle dropped low, connected it and the idle went high again. Is there anyone out there that has experienced this kind of dilemma and has found a cure, can anyone point me in another direction to stop this high idle?Any input would be great,as the explorer is not ready for retiring yet. Thankyou
Spencer
