One of my friends was tellin me I am losing power for using 2 inch pipe. I argued with him that I wasnt, but now its got me thinking. I have 2 inch straight pipes off the manifolds, true dual. My motor is a 400 .60 over with a RV cam. Is he right or just jealous
i got the 351M and i'm gonna run the same as the manifolds and go 2.25 all the way back, duals of course. 2' just lets you torque stay down low which is good for towing and offroading. no pipe will make it lose power! it'll just move it somewhere else in the power band. instead of the trq being at say 2500 it'd be at 2900 or something like that. He's jelous or something. you have good velocity with 2" pipes. Don't worry about it!!!
i hope i can set off car alarms. gotta start parking next to my brothers rice burner. and start up and see if my exaust will be setup right. maybe in need of some nice big 4inch by 24inch tips. arhhhhhaaaaaaahaaaaa MORE POWER. lol that what i'm talking about. hey i'm at 300 post in 5 weeks. Cool!!! least it's a good one. get out of the house more and terrorize them car alarms P1ckup Man.
If You Ain't Good In The Saddle Lord She Won't Be Satisfied!!!
i doubt he lost anything as the stock pipe on my manifolds are 2 1/4 inch and the main pipe after the cat is 2 1/2. if he ran duals he still helped it out. 2-2 1/4 into 1-2 1/2inch is pretty restrictive. There is no way he lost any power. If he does get the truck dynoed it won't matter unless he dynoed before the mods to the truck.

haha nah I think I should stay in for a little while, one person chased me down the other day and gave me hell, haha it kinda encouraged me to do it some more.
I dont think im losing any power I can leave some nice clouds or tire smoke behind me I was just wondering if it was possible. This exhaust has been on it for as long as i can remember my dad put it on when he used to drive it.
My old 73 F-100 lost top end power every time my turbo mufflers would blow out, " not enough back pressure" i was running a stock 360 4V, C-6 , i had headers 3"header pipes to the muff's, then 2.5 out the back, muffler shop said & i changed the tail pipes to 2" , after that .
T-n-T, did ya mean you lost low end not top end with blown out mufflers? Hey your in the upper bay area, i'm on an island that use to have a air base in the middle bay area. Carl.....o&o>..........
yeah I just got back from hunting today i love dual exhaust dont even need to get out of the pickup. They run right out of the coolie im about to go walk through from hearing me drive up didnt shoot anything yet though waiting for the turdy pointer
