Transmission Code
On my doorjamb sticker, the transmission code is "B".
I cant find any info on which transmission this is. There isn't even any reference to a "B" coded transmission in my owners manual.
My truck is a 04 F-150 Lariat.
Does anyone know where the info is?
I know it is a 4 speed automatic.
Thanks

4.6 = 4r70e
5.4 - 4r75e
the "e" states that it is electronically controlled
the two numbers "70" & "75" are actually "700" & "750" and this number divided by "2" equals the ammount of torque they are able/specified to take from the tq converter, so the 4r70e can take 350 ft lb and the 4r75e can take up to 375 ft lbs or tq.
(some one correct me if i am wrong, thats the way i learned it)

Thanks for the info.
It just seemed odd to me that there was no reference to it in the manual.
FWIW and unrelated to the thread.......I just went out to the garage and decided to check my oil, and lo and behold, there is not a little light bulb under the hood. As it was night and even with the garage lights on, it was difficult for me to get the 2 piece dipstick back in the little hole. Can you say cheap!
I guess I took the light under the hood on my '97 F-150 for granted.
