It is just a black square box about 2 and a half inches square. It should have an 80's ford truck part number, something like E0TA- and it will have two plugs, one red and one black, one male one female, only about 6 inches long each. Obviously they will match the half round plug on your wiper switch.
Well I found one in one of my dad's parts trucks. I am "assuming" it should work even though it is from an 88 F250. Is this assumption correct? I just have to find out how to remove it. It was getting too dark anyways.
Some screw to the dash, I think that might be the older ones, though. Other than that, pull the two plugs and that's it. Being from an 88 I hope the plugs are the same, but they probably are. And they are solid state units, so they probably either work or they don't. I have an extra box from the junkyard, just in case mine craps out someday I'll have an extra.
Well, I went to the 88 F250 and got out the module. It was what you guys described basically. Hooked it all up and it works! I am soooo happy! My truck has a new option! Thanks guys.
Is the module out of a 1977 Ford f150 the same? I'd like to convert my 1982 F100 to delay wipers. I have a 77 F150 parts truck and a 91 F150 parts truck. Will the switch and module work out of either of these? Thanks
Well, it rained today! I got to use the "new wipers!" It wsa great! It was just enough rain to need the delay but not full speed wipers. Worked awesome! I know, I am sad! But I love them!
It's one of the easier mods, and a very nice touch to any vehical. Glad they're working right for you. Enjoy! My current rig came with them, but I did install them on my previous 69 Ford...and it was a nice feature to have, rather than bumping them on and off all the time.
Bought a delay switch from e-bay. Best simple, cheap, and easiest upgrade you can do to your truck. Just like y'all said, plug and play. It also came with the mounting bracket on the black box, nice little surprise. Bring on the rain!!!
