I was driving my brother to the store and I thought the engine sounds funny. no rattle of a diesle sounds like a regular triton engne. so on the freeway I noticed the check guage light came on. and I looked HOLY ***** the engine temp is almost in the red, so I try the heater crank that up takes a little bit to warm up, guages still climbs then it falls, heater turns cool. hear a rattling in the passenger side then the guagge rises and the heater eventaully gets hot. repeat this cycle severealtimes before I manage to get to the dealer. get to the dealer I noticed some coolant on the running board, popped the hood looks like I think it was the intercoooler was low and boiling. and they let all there techs go an hour and a half early. They claim it will be ready today.
the truck: its the one Im trying to sell has 600 miles on it now, and completely stock.
I assume that you meant to say radiator rather than intercooler...
The only thing that would cause such a thing (a low coolant level) would be some kind of leak, or possibly internal consuption of coolant through the heads.
