When I picked up my 460/C6 last year, there was no alterator, but the brackets, spacer and (some) bolts were in a ziploc bag.
Now I want to install an alterator, but I can't find any diagrams or pictures of how this mounts.. I have an L shaped braket, and a curved adjuster bracket,
and one spacer, about 2 inches long.
I the short term I have the pivot side of the alternator bolted direct to the water pump and the adjuster side up, with the adjust bracket coming over the top of the alternator. The other end of the adjuster is also bolted to the water pump.
Of course this puts all the mounting on one side, so the alternator vibrates (shakes) when the engine is running..
so, anyone have any source of pictures? Neither my Chiltons nor my 'Rebuilding Ford Engines' show any pictures of the alternator bracket install
You can look at my gallery for my truck. I took a few pics of it installed for people who wanted to see how much space is left for mounting other accessories.
I know in general how/where to mount the thing, having done stuff like this for the last 30 years.. BUT I don't get where to put the L bracket.. certainly the curved part goes TOWARD the alternator, but I can't find 2 holes that line up with the alternator and the block and the water pump.
The third hole I guess is where the alternator bolts to the head lower bolt, thru the bracket?
