Does 71 9" have 31 splines?

I know, I know, go undo 4 bolts and see! Well, I'm busy right now putting in a new engine will be making around 380-400 HP and I would like to be able to put it to the ground. I'm looking at detroit lockers and need to know if I have 31 spline axles. I know ford was using 28 splines in the early 60s but what about the early 70s.

Its a hit/miss guess. Only sure way is to pull an axle. It could have 31, but the more common is 28 spline.

My '72 4x4 has 31 spline axles. Also fit Bronco, but not sure of what yrs.
