Hello,
First time poster here. Hope you guys can help I'm fabricating a snow plow mount for my 98 Ranger. I've heard it has to be made in such a way so to avoid the crumple zone area of the frame. Does anyone have any insight on this?
Thanks in advance!
I'm interested in this too. I have an old, smaller snowplow sitting at home that would be perfect for my 98 ranger. But i've never seen anyone with a snowplow on a newer ranger. If you go through with makeing the mounts, be sure to post back with some updates and specs and how it turned out.
I installed a Meyers plow on my 83 Ranger. The mounts were flat steel (about 3/16") that used existing holes in the frame. My guess is that if you use existing holes at the front of the frame and don't drill new ones, it should not be a problem. Also, try not to weld on the frame. If you must, only make the welds horizontal and no vertical welds. Use grade 8 bolts with nylon lock nuts. (Use the biggest you can fit into the existing holes).
Guys,
Thanks for the info! Help Im STuck, I found a snow plow mount on ebay. It's a pretty decent pic and gives some direction on how to make the mount. It pretty much looks like what you were talking about hreed...Thanks! Higgin check it out it may help you too. Thanks again.
