Under the cowl - is the reception okay? Does the antenna need to be unobstructed? Do the holes/slots in the cowl interfere?

Does anyone make a replacement third-brake light that incorporates a XM antenna? Would seem like a great idea.

I put my antenna wire out through the third brake light, really quite easy to do.

I did the same thing with my xm and nav antenna's. Just throw a tiny bit of silicone around it and it's as good as sealed.

I do like the idea of a replacement 3rd brake light with the xm antenna, Waldonian you might be onto something there. Run with it!

See the post by B-man (4-5 down). I used his Idea and have placed my anntenna in the same place, no problems yet.

***edit*** I ran the wire (covered in cable loom) across the front of the firewall with the other cables and went through the firewall on the driver's side by the steering shaft (there's a rubber grommet).

Waldonian, under the cowl is working good for me.

Mine is on the drivers side, so you can actually see it thru the slots.

Reception is just fine and you wouldn't know I had an XM antenna if you didn't know where to look.

Mine works good for me mounted under the cowl. This is a great stealth mod

I now have XM. I put the antenna under the cowl on the driver's side and ran the wire through the grommet right by the steering column. Turned out great! Thanks for all of the responses.
