I just bought an 1992 F-250 7.3 diesel non turbo with 180,000 miles. Don't know much about diesels. We live in indiana, do I need to worry about a engine block heater to get it to start during the winter. I checked into them, they are only about 30 bucks but the directions say you need to put them in the lowest freeze plug. Where would that be? I'm not going to mess with it if it's not a big deal. Since I've put about a grand in brakes and trailer hitches and etc...
You bet I wouldnt be without it. Id think this truck would have had one. Did it come from a southern state. You never know when the temp will drop to bitterly cold weather and that heater would look good. By all means put one one if not equipped. I think block heaters are cheap investments. Save lots of wear and tear on the starter and motor. Are you sure it dont have one?
I had mine plugged in this morning (very handy feature) and had to use four wheel drive to get out of the driveway due to fresh snowfall-
Hey, I tried it in 2 wheel and we couldn't make it!
