I have a few questions that I need help with. I am going to have an Auborn Pro limited slip installed in my truck and was wondering what else I should replace. I plan on having all new seals and bearings installed at the same time. Also, should I have my gear size changed to help extend the life of my motor and tranny, with the extra amount of torque being transfered? I was concidering a 3.55 or 3.73. Any feed back would be great .
I have a 1995 f-150 2wd 5.0, 125,000 miles, 8.8", 31 spline, 3.08 gears, 28" tires (don't plan on going bigger), and a 4R70W transmission with overdrive.
I am very interested in what this will cost. I am running 4.10 and the fuel milage is not that good. I bought a Supertuner 1705 and it gained me about 3 -4 MPG but I never tow heavy (less than 6000) so I can get by with much higher gears.
just for installing the gears, i think it would around 400 for labor plus the cost of the gears, which are around 200. Not sure of exact price, but this would be pretty close.
I wouldn't mind doing the whole axle especially if I can get disk brakes on it. Is the axle on my truck a Dana 80? I have been looking (not very hard) as to what axle it is. Anybody know how anti-lock brakes would interact? I have anti-lock on there now but I can't imagine the same system is used on a disk brake setup.
