Hello, I'm looking for a good source for a lightlyused or remanufactured 4.0 motor for a 98 expolorer. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to FTE. Have you checked our Classifieds and placed an ad there? You might also check in with the forums that relate to your needs, also.

Please read the forum guidelines and the READ FIRST notes in each forum you visit. If you scan the list of forums, you'll find plenty to keep you busy for a long time.

 

If warranty is important to you, I found the best warranty from ATK engines (www.atkengines.com), followed closely by a Ford Motorcraft reman engine. There didn't seem to be much difference in price either. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably go with one of those two, or get a good rebuilder to rebuild the existing motor.
