Exclamation Help!!!

Hello, I have a 99 Ford F-150 4x4 with the Off-Road package. I was recently off-roading with my truck looking for a location to go hunting in Wisconsin. The area was extremely wet anddidn't know the area. Problem is I got the entire truck muddy, engine and everything. While still in the woods the truck started vibrating very badly. I took the truck to AutoZone and had them check for the diagnostic codes and the first time was #8 cyl mis-fire and lean bank 2. I replaced the coil pack on #8 (what a pain). Truck was still running real bad. I have pulled all of the injector and coil connectors and sprayed with electric dry. No luck. Took the truck back to AutoZone and this time showed #8 mis-fire and multiple mis-fire codes 308 and 300. Does anybody know what I should look at more than what I have already? The oil looks fine, so I didn't injest water I don't think. The truck runs great before it is warmed up and runs great above 2000 rpms. Runs real poorly trying to accelerate mildly and when trying to maintain speed. I have just been laid off from my job and need to get this repaired as cheap as possible.

Thanks,
Mark Atkinson

If you haven't already, check all of your plugs and plug wires, you may a wire off.

Mark, I agree with 1081, it sounds like one of your wires are off. It's almost sure to be in the ignition system somewhere. If you could, you should get a Haynes shop manual for your truck, they are about $15, and they tell you how to do everything from changing the oil to rebuilding the engine.

I have saved thousands with these books, worth every penny!
